After the Fall, Part Eight: First Night, Part Three is the eighth issue of the After the Fall comic book series. It was written by Brian Lynch, Joss Whedon, and Scott Tipton and illustrated by Tim Kane, Fabio Mantovani, Kevyn Schmidt, and Mirco Pierfederici. It was originally published on June 11, 2008, by IDW Publishing.

Synopsis[]

Angel ships bi-weekly in June! First up, Angel: After the Fall #8, concluding the stories of what happened to Angel's friends and family during their first night in hell. In this issue: Gwen begins to fulfill her destiny, Gunn begins his journey down the darkest path imaginable, and LA's citizens deal with being cast into Hell. It's the stories we've been waiting for as the sold-out smash series continues, courtesy of Joss Whedon, Brian Lynch, Scott Tipton (co-writing Gunn's chapter) and a host of dynamic artists.[1]

Betta George[]

Betta tells Gunn he found out about the training with captive Slayers, and Gunn physically threatens him.

Gwen[]

Gwen is making out with a boy on a beach when they witness Los Angeles being sent into hell. At first they don't know what is going on, but Gwen figures it out when the sea boils and the pier is set on fire. Gwen then touches Nate, only to fry him with her powers as L.I.S.A. has malfunctioned due to the hellish reality. After unsuccessfully trying to shock Nate back into life, Gwen sets off with her full set of powers.

Gunn[]

Gunn wakes up in a vampire's lair to discover he's been sired. Learning the vampires were ordered to turn him, he kills their leader and takes charge of the group.
