After the Fall, Part Four is the third issue of the After the Fall comic book series. Written by Brian Lynch with Joss Whedon and illustrated by Franco Urru, it was originally published on February 20, 2008, by IDW Publishing.

Synopsis[]

As the first chapter in this epic tale reaches its penultimate point, Angel issues a challenge to someone — a lot of someones, actually — that he can't possibly win. Meanwhile, Spike considers changing sides as this hellish new status quo presents some opportunities he can't pass up. And we promise a shock ending more explosive than even those of the first three issues.[1]

Summary[]

At Wolfram & Hart, Angel is healed through mystic chants that fix his mortal wounds. Two creatures arrive and beckon Angel to follow them, while, outside, Gunn prepares for an attack on the building.

Angel and Wes are taken to the neighborhood of Silver Lake, which is ruled by their old ally Lorne, who notifies them of his neutral stance concerning the upcoming battle.

After Angel has a reunion with the Groosalugg, Gunn and his vampire minions plant a bomb in the empty Wolfram & Hart building, completely destroying it. Wesley's ghost fades away as Angel prepares for the battle ahead.

Quotes[]

Angel: "I'm alive. I'm breathing. I'm sweating, I'm aching from fights that occurred two months ago. It's what I've always wanted. And It's not because of the Shanshu, I signed that destiny away. I'm free of the vampire for one reason — they know right now is when I need it the most. Only way to get out of hell. Act like nothing's changed."
