Kendra Young was a Slayer from Jamaica activated in 1997 after Buffy Summers' temporary death. Trained by her Watcher Sam Zabuto, Kendra was completely dedicated to her calling. She was an ally to the Scooby Gang in battling the vampires Spike and Drusilla, but was killed in 1998 by Drusilla after only a year-long tenure as Slayer. Read more

"War Zone" is the twentieth episode of the first season of Angel and the twentieth episode in the series. Written by Garry Campbell and directed by David Straiton, it was originally broadcast on May 9, 2000, on The WB network. Angel tracks down a millionaire's blackmailer, but gets caught in the middle of a gang war between street kids and vampires and meets the leader of the vampire hunters, Charles Gunn. Read more

Jhiera was the princess of the demon species from the dimension of Oden Tal. She fought an ongoing battle against the enslavement of the females of her species by the Vigories, the Oden-Tal males, providing refuge for young Oden Tal women who had escaped to Earth. Angel helped her to evade and defeat a Vigori force that would have stopped her refugee operation. Jhiera and Angel were attracted to each other, but clashed because she was willing to let innocent Earth people get killed rather than jeopardize her mission. Read more
