sub-categories
Recently, 3 sub-catgeories for Actors have been created: "Angel (series) Actors", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer (series) Actors", and "Deceased Actors". If we feel that these categories are helpful, they should be renamed without the (series) descriptors. Those are Wikipedia disambiguations that we don't need here. There's only one thing that Angel Actors could possibly be. Of course, the question of whether or not these sub-categories need to exist at all is also a topic for discussion. What do others think? —Scott (talk) 18:16, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think the "Deceased Actors" category is necessary. The actors didn't die during shooting, which might make it a relevant category, and eventually everyone dies . --A morris 14:50, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, "Deceased actors" is a pretty odd choice for a category. I don't think that one is necessary and more than other random qualifiers like "male actors" or "British actors" would be. Plus, it'c kind of morbid.
- I do think that the sub-categories for the two series are important though, though I'm in two minds as to whether we need to double-file people under "actors" and "x (series) actors", as that seems a little odd to me. Wikipedia does it one way, but other fan-wikis, such as Memory Alpha, do it another, so I'm a little torn on that.
- As for whether we really need to put "(series)" each time, that doesn't really seem necessary, no. --Jayunderscorezero 19:28, 29 August 2008 (UTC)
- ...Except, of course, unless we're differentiating between Buffy the Vampire Slayer (series) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (film), or anything else called Buffy the Vampire Slayer that has actors in it (the video games, perhaps?). I have in fact just created a new category for actors from the film, so maybe the "(series)" qualifier can stay. --Jayunderscorezero 20:48, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
