David Greenwalt (October 16, 1949) served as a staff writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and co-created the Angel series with Joss Whedon.
Greenwalt returned after two years absence (remaining consulting producer, though) to "Angel" (1999) when he heard that the show was canceled in February 2004 to direct one last episode (5.20 "The Girl in Question").
In 2011, Greenwalt co-created the hit NBC show "Grimm".
