Dr. Overheiser was a doctor in the Sunnydale Memorial Hospital. He was contacted by Graham Miller to operate on Riley Finn and save his life from the complications caused by the performance-enhancing drugs fed to him by Maggie Walsh.

Spike kidnapped him so he would remove the chip implanted in his brain by The Initiative.
