El Eliminati was an all-male dueling cult of sword wielding vampires dating back to the 15th century. Their most notable feature was that each member armed themself with a jewelled sword and dagger.
History
While greatly powerful and feared in their days, the constant dueling between its members and the increase in anti-vampire activity reduced the cult's numbers dramatically. Thus weakened, they became acolytes of the demon Balthazar, who took them to the New World and used them in his war against his enemy, Richard Wilkins in 1999.
They were tasked with retrieving Balthazar's amulet which would restore his power but were stopped by Slayers Buffy Summers and Faith Lehane. They kidnapped their Watchers, Rupert Giles and Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, who were then rescued by Buffy and Angel, resulting the in death of several members in the ensuing battle. After the death of Balthazar and their leader, what the cult made of themselves is unknown.
