A group of supernatural entities was responsible for a witch's spiritual journey,[1] accessible through astral projection.[1][2] Each being resembled human females with characteristics representing various elements and concepts, such as water, fire, light, vapor, beast, justice, math, cubism, etc.[1][2]

History[]

Willow Rosenberg encountered them when she underwent the traditional journey and noticed that Aluwyn had been tricking her. These entities appeared to Willow saying that she got it sooner than most: space and time had no rules there and Aluwyn would run her in circles just for the company. They shamed Aluwyn and announced that there were many guides on the path to wisdom, but Willow's would take form of Willow's dead lover Tara Maclay. Willow rejected the illusion and chose Aluwyn, explaining that she already expected her to lie.[1]

When Warren Mears captured Willow and began to perform a lobotomy on her, these beings allowed Willow to astral project to them as a mental refuge. They could not undo what was happening in her plane, but Willow's heart could bide with them until she was free — either unbound or dead. They hid Willow's agony by reformulating its representation — a image of various figures falling into a vortex —, which they described as a possibility: thoughts, courses of actions, pieces of what Willow could be, ending.[2]

The entity in water's form asked if Willow had a plan and if she feared natural irreversible death. The witch told her about her connection with her best friend, Buffy Summers. Willow shared her magical powers with Buffy, who rescued a healed and awaken Willow.[2]
