We were great warriors in the ring, great heroes. Children worshiped us. Women loved us. Men wanted to be us. In all the years we fought, we never lost. Never quit. Never compromised. We were the best. But not all of our battles were in the ring.
Número Cinco[src]

The Hermanos Números ("Numbers Brothers" in Spanish) was a group of Mexican wrestlers who lived in Los Angeles during the 1950s. The group was composed of five brothers, known by their luchador names: Número Uno, Número Dos, Número Tres, Número Cuatro, and Número Cinco.[1]

History[]

The Hermanos Números protected the Chicano community from the evil that plagued Los Angeles, whether human or supernatural. Notably, the group fought off an armed assassin and had a great victory over the Diablo Robótico. Keeping with lucha libre tradition, they remained masked even outside the ring.[1]

Being heroes, the Hermanos Números were targeted by Tezcatcatl when the demon raised on the Day of the Dead of 1953. They defeated the Tezcatcatl, but four of the brothers died in the process. The remaining brother, Número Cinco, guarded the Aztec amulet from the demon for 50 years. He attempted to continue working alone, but people stopped seeking his help, so Número Cinco began working at Wolfram & Hart.[1]

In the 2000s, wrestling matches represented the Hermanos Números not as heroes but as a comical farce. In 2003, the Tezcatcatl raised again, and Número Cinco provoked him into killing him like the demon had done with his brothers. In the fight, his blood stained the Hermanos Números' grave, raising them from the earth. The four brothers joined Angel against Tezcatcatl and defeated the demon once again. The brothers then held the body of Número Cinco, and together they faded into the afterlife.[1]
