Harris was a paramedic who, along with Wick, was sent to the Summers residence in response to Buffy Summers's 911 call after she found the body of her mother.[1]
Biography[]
Harris was dedicated to communicating with Buffy while his partner examined Joyce's body. Harris asked Buffy how long her mother had been that way and if she was conscious when Buffy found her. Upon Wick announcing they were "bagging" Joyce, Harris explained to Buffy that they were going to intubate Joyce in an attempt to get her to breathe. He asked if her mother had any serious physical health problems.[1]
While Wick held the mask in place, Harris did chest compressions. He performed CPR, but Joyce did not respond. Harris told Wick she was cold and he should call it. Harris stood up and informed Buffy that her mother was dead. He described that she probably died of an aneurysm a while before Buffy found her with very little pain, and there was nothing Buffy could have done.[1]
The radio called for Harris and Wick to go to Beaumont and Ninth, so they moved to leave. Harris told Buffy the coroner's office might take a while, and she should sit, have a glass of water, and try not to disturb the body. He added that he was very sorry for her loss and left the house.[1]
