Ugly Little Monsters, Part Three is the forty-second issue of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Classic comic book series. Written by Tom Fassbender with Jim Pascoe and illustrated by Cliff Richards, it was originally published on February 27, 2002, by Dark Horse Comics.
Synopsis[]
The Scoobies get attacked by more ugly, foul-smelling, creepy, little, green monsters. They seem to really hate Buffy, and the little buggers are becoming a bigger problem than anyone expected. It looks like one of Buffy's friends might be related to the menace, but how? And why? This issue marks a revelation for one of the Scoobies. Don't miss it. Scribes Tom Fassbender and Jim Pascoe continue to knock Buffy fans out with their evil genius, and Cliff Richards and Joe Pimentel have become THE favorite artists of Buffy fans just like you![1]

- Scott Allie described the conception of the "Ugly Little Monsters" arc: "It was partly concocted over a dinner at the San Diego Comic-Con, with Tom Fassbender, Jim Pascoe, Dave McCaig, Jeff Matsuda, and Brian Horton all present. We became fixated with the number three, leading to a three-issue story with a three-word title, 'Ugly Little Monsters.' Interior pages had three panels, triangular compositions, and triadic color schemes. Covers featured three main characters, as well as the three little uglies."[2]
