The Vanishing Gem, or Vanishing Stone, was a mystical gem capable of killing a deity.

History

“Yet another "convenient" power object. Where do these guys find them?”

Lost in the darkest corners of the outer realms, the Vanishing Gem had the power to kill deity-like higher beings. After centuries of searching, the Gem was finally aquired by Wolfram & Hart in a future where the higher being known as "James" had turned Earth into a demon breeding farm. Wolfram & Hart lawyer Darrow used the Gem to assault James' sister Rowant Mor, but was killed by his colleague Mendoza.^{[citation needed]}

Illyria stole the Gem from Rowant using her time manipulation powers and returned Angel to the present with it, where he used it against James, although unsuccessfully, due to the attack being disturbed. The gem was last seen being sucked into a portal leading to the darkest corners of the outer realms, seemingly creating a time loop.^{[citation needed]}
