Gwen Ditchik was a Sunnydale High School student. She was also a friend of Cordelia Chase. She attended the World Culture Dance dressed in a Japanese kimono along with Cordelia, who found her foreign exchange partner, Sven, annoying. Gwen found him cute and proceeded to have some punch with him, where he revealed to her he was able to speak English quite well.
Gwen was among the other 'Cordettes' who rejected Cordelia when she started dating Xander Harris. In that same week, she was also infected by a love spell cast by Amy Madison, causing her to fall in love with Xander along with the rest of Sunnydale's female population.
