Angel: "Legends of Vishnu?"
Giles: "Oh, there’s an invisible girl terrorizing the school."
Angel and Rupert Giles[src]

Legends of Vishnu details and chronicles the major deity and member of Hindu trinity - Vishnu. Vishnu is described as having a Universal Form (Vishvarupa) which is beyond the limits of human sense and perception.

Another interesting interpretation of Vishnu's form, Vishnu is referred to as "A-Moortimaan", ie., “Having no Form". These exerpts are undoubtably the purpose for Giles using the book to research Marcie Ross's ability to become invisible.
