Lucky Cat (or Maneki-neko, literally "beckoning cat") were a species of mystical Japanese cats known to bring good luck to the owner. One of these cats was present at San Francisco to meet the Slayer Buffy Summers and give her requirements concerning the Slayer Handbook and the new magic rules.
When Buffy reforms a third magical council, one of these cats was seen along the member.
