Lydia was a Watcher.

Biography

Along with Quentin Travers and several other Watchers, she traveled Sunnydale to test the Slayer, Buffy Summers, to see if she was eligible to the Council's imformation on Glorificus. As the Watchers' Council interviewed Buffy's friends, Lydia nervously questioned Spike and blushingly admitted that she wrote her thesis on him.

In 2002, Lydia along with most of the other Watchers, was killed in a bomb blast orchestrated by Caleb, the second-in-command of the First Evil.

• The shooting script for "Checkpoint" reveals that the Watcher's name is 'Lydia,' but her name was not revealed on-screen until two years later in the episode "Never Leave Me".
