Ma'at was the first totem of the Ra-Tet, representing sunrise. Alongside Ashet, she was one of the two daylight totems and represented the benevolence of humanity.
By early 2003, Ma'at was known in Los Angeles as a powerful "white magic" shaman and a acquaintance of Lorne. She was murdered by the Beast who ripped out her heart in order to employ it as part of a ritual to blot out the sun.
