Número Cinco, also known as Number Five, was the alias of an employee at Wolfram & Hart, a former wrestler, and a Champion. Alongside his four older brothers, he was one of the Hermanos Números.[1]

Biography[]

Número Cinco was born on September 15, 1929, the youngest of five brothers. Together, they were professional luchadores known as the Hermanos Números. They also fought evils outside the ring, such as monsters, gangsters, vampires, and the Diablo Robótico. In 1953, Número Cinco's four brothers were slain by Tezcatcatl, an Aztec demon who ate the hearts of heroes in order to remain in the world.[1]

Soon after his brothers' deaths, Holland Manners from Wolfram & Hart approached Número Cinco about a job as a security guard. Despite despising them, Número Cinco took the job.[1] By the time Angel took over the Los Angeles branch in 2003, Número Cinco was working as mail man.[2]

That year, Tezcatcatl returned on the Day of the Dead, so Angel recruited Número Cinco to help him defeat the demon. Angel's willingness to fight was hampered by own self-doubt after Tezcatcatl apparently rejected his heart. As Número Cinco visited his brother's grave, Tezcatcatl appeared, so the man claimed that he had swallowed the talisman the demon sought in an attempt to provoke it into killing him.[1]

Número Cinco's brothers were restored to life by his bravery. Angel arrived and collaborated with the four of them to defeat the demon. As Número Cinco laid dying, he revealed to Angel that he had hidden the talisman in the coffee thermos on his brothers' memorial headstone. He also assured Angel that the demon had only rejected his heart because he was a vampire. With that, Número Cinco died with his brothers, and together they faded into the afterlife.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

Though he possessed no independent supernatural powers and of advanced age, Número Cinco had great strength and was still a formidable fighter, being able to manhandle and bodily throw Angel around with ease.[1]
