"Nikki Goes Down!" was the seventh story in the "Tales of the Slayers" graphic novel.
Nikki Wood woke up in bed with her lover, Li, an NYPD cop. She followed him at night to find out he was on stake-out. He was unaware of her being a Slayer. Li's target was a man called Le Banc who he believed was smuggling drugs. Instead, he was smuggling vampires. They attacked the cops, although Nikki intervened, Li was killed by one of them. She was found by other cops with her lover in her arms. They suspected her of the murder and she fled.
Beating up demons, Nikki was able to find out that Le Banc would reveal his cargo at a party. She gate crashed it to find out that the cargo was an enormous bat, which flew out a window. In spite of her fear of heights, Nikki grabbed onto it. Using a pearl necklace, she was able to control its flight and caused it to fly into a metro station and onto the tracks. Jumping off at the last second, she crashed the bat into an oncoming train.
Months later, Le Banc uses his private yacht to go to the Bahamas, where another nest of these bats was found. Using a crossbow with scope however, Nikki assassinated him.
- The story was set after the flashbacks from "Vermin, Part Two", but before the flashbacks from "On Your Own, Part One".
- Li was an Asian American and thus not Robin Wood's father.
