Renee was one of the thousands of New Slayers and one of the techs working under Xander's supervision. She had a crush on him.
Xander and Renee admitted their feelings towards each other around the time a Japanese Vampire Sect attacked the New Council HQ's in Scotland. Afterward Renee accompanied Xander to a meeting with Count Dracula, suffering the Count's racist remarks about her. Renee also joined the Slayer taskforce at Tokyo, dressing up as a clueless North American schoolgirl in order to lure a vampire. However, Renee was murdered by Toru, leader of the Tokyo vampires, who stabbed her with the Scythe.
Renee's body was incinerated and her ashes spread by Xander.
