Satyr was a type of supernatural beings characterized by the appearance of a human with goat's legs and horns[1], and a supposed tendency for trickery.[2]
Examples of satyrs were a man mutated by the plague ball[3] and the San Francisco resident Edward Satyros.[1]

- In Greek mythology, satyr was a male nature spirit with ears and a tail resembling those of a horse, as well as a permanent, exaggerated erection. Companions of the god Dionysus, they were characterized by their ribaldry and love for wine, music, dancing, and women.
