The Trio, is a group formed by fellow geeks Warren Mears, Jonathan Levinson, and Andrew Wells for the purpose of becoming 'supervillains' and taking over Sunnydale. Former Sunnydale High schoolmates of Buffy, Warren is an expert in technology and robotics, while Jonathan is an apt sorcerer and Andrew a semi-accomplished demon summoner, in the tradition of his older brother Tucker. The Trio begin as minor comedic villains but their storyline takes a darker turn after their leader Warren accidentally kills his ex-girlfriend. While Andrew and Jonathan do not possess the malice and hatred of true villains, Warren later reveals his true colours as a violent misogynist, a capable murderer and psychopath.

• Rob a bank with the help of a M'Fashnik demon and then send it to kill Buffy, (cf. "Flooded")
• Test Buffy at school and work, (cf. "Life Serial")
• Rob a museum for a diamond with quasi-mystical powers, incapacitating the security guard with a Freeze Ray, (cf. "Smashed")
• Attempt to sneak into an all-women's spa using an Invisibility Ray, (cf. "Gone")
• Use the Cerebral Dampener on a woman to make her their sex slave and then fool Buffy into thinking she killed Katrina Silber by summoning Rwasundi demons, (cf. "Dead Things")
• Set a demon on Buffy that makes her hallucinate, (cf. "Normal Again")
• Retrieve a disk from two vampires and use it to find the secret location of the Orbs of Nezzla'Khan, (cf. "Entropy")
• Steal the Orbs of Nezzla'Khan and attempt to rob an amusement park, (cf. "Seeing Red")
