- "Along with the Beast, they were a triumvirate of suffering and despair, ruling with equal vengeance."
- ―General Gregor[src]
A "Triumvirate of Suffering and Despair" was how General Gregor, leader of the Knights of Byzantium, referred to the trio of Gods that included Glorificus and ruled a hell dimension of "unspeakable torment".
The three gods originally ruled with equal authority, but at some point, Glory's powers and lust for pain and misery evolved far beyond even what the other two were confortable with. Fearing Glory would try to seize absolute power for herself alone, the two turned on her and struck first. After a civil war that spanned a thousand years, the two gods managed to defeat Glory, though very narrowly, and banished her from their dimension to the lower Earthly plane.
