Urkonn was a demon sent by Vrill and Boluz to train Melaka Fray as a Slayer after her original Watcher chose instead to immolate himself. Serving as her guide and confidant, a budding friendship grew from the what beginned as a rather harsh mentor-student relationship, but he ultimately betrayed her in order to harden her resolve and killed Loo. After defeating her brother, Harth, she discovered Urkonn's duplicity and lures him into a trap, killing him.
