RE: White hats

I added that because that's my context for the expression. If I'm wrong, fine, but why not add the explanation yourself? The reason I added it was because I wanted to find out if it was religiously related. It'd be good to have the explination there. User:Arthurbarnhouse

Re: Articles

That's not what I'm used to from similar wikis, but if that's this site's style than I can try it. Thanks for the note, now I don't have to be mad at you for deleting my Fort Knox page.--Tim Thomason 21:14, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

Video

Hi. Why did you remove the video from the home page? I think the YouTube integration is a useful feature and makes the wiki a more interesting place to visit. Angela talk 01:33, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

Lost

I've unblocked you on Lost and left a message for the user who blocked you since it's unfair to block someone for violating a policy they didn't know existed. Please be careful not to add spoilers there again. Angela talk 19:09, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Pilot merged into Unaired Buffy pilot

I've merged the plot summary from "Pilot" into Unaired Buffy pilot. Please remove "Pilot," thanks. --Dr. Chuck 00:02, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I've redirected pilot rather than delete it in case there were external links pointing to it. Angela talk 00:07, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Oops

Hi, I don't think it's necessary to include Buffy's middle name in the article title, and I tried to switch it back. However, I'm not sure I did it correctly - the talk page isn't working. Sorry to have caused a problem, but you please fix it? 86.157.87.20 03:06, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

I've fixed this. The page content had been moved manually rather than using the move page feature. I deleted the talk page which had no relevant content. It was left over from an old page I'd moved there. Angela@Wikia (talk) 21:50, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Uh... what does Sysop mean? Is that like an admin or something? Thanks anyway, I'll take it as a compliment. :) And I'll try to be as responsible as I can, Uncle Ben. ;) I've not actually done a whole lot of original work, just transwikied a bunch of stuff. BTW, I've meaning to ask someone, whats Wikia's policies on images? I've uploaded a bunch, but I wasn't really sure what to put in the summary. Wikipedia is really strict (and frankly kind of killjoys) when it comes to copyrighted images, so it struck me as odd that this wiki is more lenient. Paul730 01:51, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, sysop means "system operator", and yeah, it is like an administrator, though your power is limited to this wikia only. As for images, name the source.--Gonzalo84 02:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

RE:Slayers articles

  • Ah, thanks for that. I was opperating with pretty much only Category: Slayers. That list is most helpful. Din's Fire 997 20:02, 22 December 2007 (UTC)

Witch article

Buffyverse Wiki

Hi Gonzalo, my name's Scott. I'm a Wikia Helper focused on working on Entertainment wikis with Wikia's Community Development Manager. I've been doing some general clean-up here recently, removing references to broken templates and clearing out old Wikipedia links, things like that. With the recent activity for both Buffy and Angel in the comic books, we've been thinking about featuring this wiki as a spotlight for two weeks on Wikia. That means that a graphic for this wiki will appear on all Wikia wikis in the hopes that more folks will participate here and help build the community.

I was hoping to spruce up the front page a bit, and bring over some more content from Wikipedia. Are there any projects you were looking to work on in the near future here? Let me know what you think. Our spotlights have been successful in the past, I wanted to be sure you would be ready for the increased traffic. Thanks! —Scott (talk) 19:02, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Gonzalo, I hadn't heard back from you in a while, so I went ahead and made some changes to the front page in time for the Spotlight which is running this week and next. You may have seen the square ads for Buffy on the sidebar at Wookiepedia or some other Wikia wikis. I hope to see you here again, and thought I'd point out what will hopefully be some useful help pages for new users. If you're around, feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions. —Scott (talk) 21:37, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, I'm really glad you like it! The spotlight runs until February 24th, so I hope we get some comics-hungry people stopping by :·) —Scott (talk) 05:15, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Hey Gonza, in adding the two demon brothels of the series I noticed Madam Anita is not listed as Madame Dorion. I chose to go with madame and saved all the pages as such, but Madam Anita was created as madam. Could you possibly change it to Madame Anita? Thank you! Hakatri 15:39, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Hakatri
Thanks Gonz! Hakatri 17:27, 13 January 2009 (UTC)Hakatri

Buffywiki.org

Hi Paul. I just wanted to let you know that Wikia recently acquired Buffywiki.org which is now a redirect to us. Part of the deal was that we would link back to buffytalk.com as seen in the top navigation links here. So the really good news for us is that our Google search results have increased; we're only number 2 in line after Wikipedia now. So, yay for us! —Scott (talk) 20:50, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

front page and skin

Hey man. You've probably heard about Wikia's new ads. The ones appearing on article pages are going away for logged-in users next week. The ads on the front page are going to be turned on for everyone very soon. So I'm going to play with the format to make sure nothing breaks when this happens. If you're interested in more, there's details at w:Wikia's New Style. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. —Scott (talk) 17:15, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Merrick

Yes, you're probably right. I saw the name on IMDb and used it because I hate it when characters don't have full names, but there is no source. Come to think of it, I can't remember if there's a source for Oliver Pike and Ben Wilkinson's full names either. Paul730 23:25, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Strikes

Two things, really fast: Firstly, I did not know where I was to post my comment about merging the information from the other stories in the Predators and Prey arc and requesting the superfluous stand alone/one-shot pages for deletion. My utmost honest mistake for sheer ignorance. Second, what shall happen when I obtain my third strike? Will you beat me like the coach did beat Billy in Nightmares? Four Tildes for you, PonyEnglish 04:36, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Story titles

I noticed on the Soledad article that you changed "Harmonic Divergence" to Harmonic Divergence. It's general practice on Wikipedia and other wikis that only series titles (like Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel) go in italics while episode/story titles go in quotes ("Chosen" and "No Fade Away"). I've noticed a lot of inconsistency on this site when it comes to that, and thought we should discuss it. Paul730 22:38, 10 January 2009 (UTC)

I have to disagree, comic titles would only go in italics if they were part of the main title, like Angel: After the Fall. Individual story titles, whether in TV or comics, would go in quotes. That's how it's handled on Wikipedia and it lends a nice consistency IMO. Paul730 19:40, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, at the Central Discussion talk we sorta agreed to use the Wookiepedia style, and they use italics for comics, films, novels and tv series, and quotes for article and tv episode titles.--Gonzalo84 19:42, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Fall of LA deaths

I created that category because it was reversed and those characters could no longer be classified as "Deceased individuals". Maybe some kind of general category for people who have been resurrected, which could include Buffy and Darla as well as all the Fall of LA victims? I'd have appreciated you at least discussing the category instead of deleting it outright. Paul730 04:36, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry for the deletion... I didn't truly see who had created it. Anyway, I like your proposal for a "resurrected individuals" category for Buffy, Darla, Spike and the HellA victims.--Gonzalo84 04:56, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Rogue Slayers

Hmm, I'd maybe keep it for now but it seems a little too subjective? What really constitutes a "rogue Slayer"? Soledad rejected Buffy's team and went solo... would she count, for example? Are we counting "evil" Slayers or just those who rebelled against the Watchers' Council? Paul730 18:21, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

I'd go with Slayers that use their powers for evil/selfish reasons.--Gonzalo84 19:44, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

A favor?¿

Hi! I began a new wikia about Buffy and Angel, but in Spanish, because I want people who don´t understand english to know everything about Buffy and Angel series. I wonder if I could take or copy some ideas from this wiki. I do not like to do it without your permission, because that is plagiarism, and I find it wrong. I started a few weeks ago, and although I've already written a few pages, if you do not like that I have copied the format, etc... I will delete them y I'll begin again. I would like to have your approval. Thank you very much anyway. Bye.---Trebio 19:27, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

If you're up to the effort of translating - which is why I haven't done this already - then go ahead with my blessing. Wikia material is not subject to copyright anyway. And any help you need don't hesitate to ask for my help. --Gonzalo84 23:43, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, that "Thanks, will do" was for a message I got back in May, I don't really know my way around and put it in the wrong spot.

Help!

Thanks for leaving a message.

Okay, I need some help. I know, trust a teenage girl younger than Dawn not to know how to use this. I joined and suddenly, I'm confused. I try to navigate my way through this and it's like WTF???

Please help me. Please? In return, I'll give you some links to fanfiction stories that are cool, if random in pairing.

Miss Sparkles

Thanks! As promised...

Thanks so much. And as promised, you can have

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1926422/1/The_Babysitter : Angel is a young art student at SU. He really shouldn't want his tutor's angry teenage son but something's can't be avoided. it's AU, and most of the characters mentioned/seen are human.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1417794/1/Splitting_of_Souls : It goes AU after Chosen, but is a classic Buffy/Angel. Is beautiful for a pairing I don't usually read.

http://spanderfiles.com/arvs/velvetcrypt/family.html : this is from Spanderfiles.com, which are all good, some heartbreaking, some so funny you wet yourseslf. This is one where Xander takes in his sister's kids and Spike helps him.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5306729/1/What_You_Wish_For : Spike wants a sane Dru. Two words: Oh dear.

And as an extra: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=54356255 It's the full episode of Smile time. You don't have to have a Myspace account to watch it.

There you go!

Unnecessary articles

Hey, what do you think of articles like Glory's Pile of Bricks and Glory's Tower's Staircase? I think they're totally unnecessary and non-notable; if they need to be mentioned, they can be at Glory's Tower. I started a discussion at Talk:Glory's Pile of Bricks, but the article creator hasn't made much of a case. Would you support their deletion, I don't want to abuse my sysop powers by just deleting them outright. Paul730 22:06, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Deleted Articles.

Please could you send me copies of the articles that were deleted, as I would grately appreciate that. Busbi 17:38, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Vampire Wikis

Hey, how's it going? As part of a cross-promotional initiative, I'm interested in driving some extra traffic here. I've put together a template that shows off some of our hottest vampire wikis and I was hoping we could put it at the bottom of the front page here. I've already added it to a few wikis, and hopefully the others will be linking back here eventually. Would that be cool to do? Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! —Scott (talk) 20:55, September 18, 2009 (UTC)

Haha, I think Twilight is pretty incorrigible as well. We are building a new central hub for Wikia's vampire wikis at vampires.wikia.com though. I'm making sure that Buffy has a prominent spot to link back here, so hopefully that's some consolation :) —Scott (talk) 13:53, September 19, 2009 (UTC)

Pagetitle optimization

Hi Gonzalo. I'm Joe, a Wikia Staff member. I just wanted to give you a heads up on the edits I made to MediaWiki:Pagetitle and MediaWiki:Pagetitle-view-mainpage. We're putting a lot of effort into focusing on our vampire-themed wikis, and of the things we're focusing on is SEO (Search Engine Optimization). That's why I added the important search terms to those two files. Feel free to add a couple/few more terms if I missed any, and feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Cheers. JoePlay@Wikia (talk) 19:27, September 22, 2009 (UTC)

User Blogs

Hi, Gonzalo, I'm Shawn from the Wikia Entertainment Team. You guys have a great wiki and community here, and I wanted to leave a quick message with you and the other admins about user blogs. I noticed nobody has been using them yet, and I'm wondering if there's anything you'd like to, or need a hand getting started with them. One of the ways to get users excited about blogs we on the Entertainment team have noticed is to set up a blog feed on the main page. You could use the blog space to voice opinions on the ongoing Buffy comic, Joss Whedon's other work, or the other vampire wikis we have here on Wikia (you've probably noticed the hub on the main page).

I'd love to help you guys get started using this feature, as it's a great way to get a tighter community and encourage discussion among its users. Please let me know if you have any questions or need help getting something started! Shawn (talk) 07:42, September 30, 2009 (UTC)

MattRoyston 19:03, December 7, 2009 (UTC) Hello, you don'y know me, I'm Busbi's Brother. A Few Things

Just a few things I've noticed about this wiki, several users have been banned for reasons against wiki guidelines and with the Busbi issue, ignoring it won't make it go away. Hello534 18:31, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

  • Ignoring messages on one's talk page is grounds for being reported. Hello534 21:16, December 23, 2009 (UTC)
    • Sorry, I've been doing a lot of stuff lately. Anyway, the Busbi issue has been solved and the articles his brother wanted have been sent via email. About the banned users, the reason has been vandalism, disruptive edits, unprovoked attacks and spamming.--Gonzalo84 04:20, December 24, 2009 (UTC)

Just A Reminder

My Brother is refusing treatment because of the stress he's under, partially due to you not giving him the deleted articles back. Are you going to give them back, or are you going to let him suffer? MattRoyston 19:18, December 18, 2009 (UTC)

look, I don't know if you're being serious, mental illness is not something to joke about, I'm telling you cause someone really close to me suffers from depression. Also, you were promoting another Buffy wiki-like website on someone else's talk page. If writing stuff calms your brother, then use that website.--Gonzalo84 17:05, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

How could you think I was joking? He was using the website up until the summer, when he was hospitalised, came out in december for his gradual easing back into a normal routine, started editing and relapsed into bipolar sydrome again. I'm his older brother and I just want him to have hose articles printed off for his box of peaceful memories. MattRoyston 14:01, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

fine... send me your email through the "e-mail this user" option on the left side of the screen and what I can do.--Gonzalo84 16:00, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Angel titles

I don't think Angel: Immortality for Dummies is a separate arc from The Crown Prince Syndrome. Apparently IfD is an overall arc title, while TCPS is a smaller story taking place within that arc. It's confusing as hell, I hate the way IDW title their stories, but that's what I was told when I asked over at SlayAlive. I'm not refuting your edit, but I have a feeling we'll need to see how this all plays out before the article titles are set in stone. Paul730 04:39, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

I guess we can keep it this way until info on Angel #30 becomes more clear. Angel #28 is titled "The crown prince syndrome".--Gonzalo84 04:41, December 30, 2009 (UTC)

Indeed, though Olvikan only has two eyes and a different head. Also, the Wurms have small leg-like apendages.--Gonzalo84 02:25, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that too. But the Darque Wurms (exept Baticus) were extinct and Olvikan came milleniums after so he may be a bit different than the rest of them.--I was here 10:47, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Template question

all you gotta do is write the file name (as in "lorne.jpg"). Saw the new article for Beck. Remember that to categorize individuals you don't need to write in which comic or episode they appear (Category:Spike comics is for the comics series not the characters). Also I hope you don't forget to check how to list appearances.--Gonzalo84 19:32, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, thanks i'll do that.--I was here 19:34, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Behavior modification chip

Btvs This discussion is listed as an Active Talk Page.
Please remove this template when the question has been answered.
Angelwings

Hi. I just had a question about the recent edits on the behavior modification chip page. First, a question about the removal of the continuity break in 'The I in Team.' You stated the reason as: "Removing speculation... the chip was introduced in that same episode. But it became active after Spike left the Initiative."
This is actually not true. The chip was introduced well before "The I in Team," and Spike had already escaped the Initiative by that point. As such, it was a continuity break, and should probably be listed on the page (imo), though I wouldn't change it back without your say-so. :)
As for the rest (eg - things like Sweet's spell), is there anywhere to list stuff like that (theories pages, discussion pages, etc), or do we assume they are continuity breaks and list them directly on the episode pages? Thanks. --Stevehim 12:55, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Need to delete a page

Hello... I accidently made duplicate pages for Herbert the Mascot (You will see one that is complete, and one that says "Please Delete" on the page. I am unsure how to delete... can you delete it for me, or tell me how to?? Thanks.

Are you sure that all of the Knights Of Byzantium were human?

This is BlueStu talking: a few moments ago, you told me that you had deleted the pages I wrote about the demon knights from the Knights Of Byzantium because there was no evidence to suggest that there were any demons among them. Which is fair enough, because there wasn't, but I did say that they were "presumably" demons. I mean like I said on the pages I wrote, Buffy has never killed a human before-remember Giles in Spiral commenting that Buffy was morally unable to take Ben's life because Ben was human, and Willow asking Buffy was prepared to go all Slayer on humans at last? Buffy didn't deny that she had never killed a human before when Willow said that to her, which says to me that the knight who got an axe in his chest and the 10 dead knights that Dante Chevalier mentioned couldn't have been human. But you're right-it was never confirmed that there were any demons among then so I probably shouldn't have written those pages.

If you ever find out the official explanation for the 10 dead knights, then let me know.

Please don't block me!

This is Blu Stu again-sorry, mate! Didn't mean to push any buttons by recreating that bug demon article-that was a mistake on my behalf, I'm sorry. I won't do it again, I promise, but yeah, I have a habit of making theories. Please don't block me.

I'll keep my theories to myself in future, okay? I thought the Aimee Mann thing was worth mentioning, what with the new public interest in vampires in the Buffyverse, but I'll keep it to myself if that's best with you. Likewise, I'll keep my theory that some of the Knights of Byzantium may have been demons to myself. I tell you what-if I ever see Joss Whedon, I'll ask him if any of them were demons among them, or whether you were right about that self-defense theory you told me. But untill then, I won't write any more articles-I'll keep my theories to myself. Is that alright?

Hi Gonzalo! That used to be where we would set the text for the Edit button. If you were logged in, it would say edit, but if you weren't, it would invite you to log in. The login function is now a popup, so we don't need to specify it differently. How's everything else going here? I don't get to check in as often as I'd like, but I still have this listed as one of my favorite wikis :) —Scott (talk) 16:44, February 19, 2010 (UTC)

Sanskrit

Angel: After the Fall specifically mentions 'Primordial Sanskrit, a language which does not exist in real life, but which is clearly a 'related to' of our human Sanskrit - hence why Sanskrit should be treated as an exception, in this case. Also, it is suggested that the Old Ones invented the language, or at least spoke it millions of years prior to its real-life invention - making it a part of the fiction. This is why I did not count it as 'an article about a real life language', and think perhaps you should restore the article, in this case, or perhaps call it 'Primordial Sankrit'. Shell Kracker 03:51, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

well... the stuff about it being invented by the Old Ones is pure speculation, so it shouldn't be added. As for the article. It should be Primordial Sanskrit and it should be limited to contain information found in the comic itself. Just because its "primordial" doesn't mean its the same as the Primordium Age.--Gonzalo84 03:55, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
It is strongly implied - on the very same page, the Primordium Age is mentioned, Illyria is called a Primordial, and she is said to know Primordial Sanskrit (infact, upon review, it is implied ONLY she would know the language, further evidence that it is from her era) - that is more than just speculation, one would think. Shell Kracker 04:01, March 1, 2010 (UTC)
P.S. I feel I should also mention that I was a bit taken aback by how you just deleted the article and all links, without any discussion - it seems like you assumed I was just a noob making a noob error, but didn't actually consider for a moment that the canon comics might actually support the article - I understand a mod/admin's duty, having been one myself elsewhere - but I put a lot of effort into the article, and now can't be arsed restoring the damage. I would appreciate it if you would create the Primordial Sanskrit one on my behalf, alter the Primordium Age article if you agree with what I said above, and restore relevant links. Sunnydale Map

On the page for "Sunnydale", there is a photo of a folded, full-colour map of the town. Is that commercially available, or was it fan-made? There was supposed to be an 'official' map in the upcoming book "Welcome to Sunnydale" (slated for production by Eden Studios), but it was never released. Feel free to leave a message at xaltotun01@yahoo.com any time. Thanks.GreatGodTao 19:45, March 1, 2010 (UTC)

Editing

Hey, you seem like the person to ask about this, and before I get started I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing! =D

I plan to go through the articles and correct some grammar and tense errors (literary present tense ftw) and some widow and orphan lines. I just want to make sure its cool with you before I start. I've got a week over spring break that I'm not doing anything, so I could probably burn through quite a few articles.

Thanks,

File categorization

I admit to never categorizing files myself, I think you've actually pulled me up for it in the past. Remind me, how should images be categorized? Paul730 16:15, March 16, 2010 (UTC)

Vampyr Book

I said it could be assumed. You can at least put it in the notes section that it can be assumed that the Vampyr book is passed down to each new slayer. It's not speculation at all in my opinion. --TheBook 22:24, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

Unless Giles said "this book is passed from generation to generation" like they said about the Emergency kit, or its seen in the hands of past slayers or watchers, sorry, its speculation.--Gonzalo84 22:25, March 19, 2010 (UTC)
So we're not allowed to think further then that? Speculation in my eyes would be saying that the book had some kind power. You can always put this in Although never mentioned, it can be assumed the Vampyr book was passed down each new slayer". Just because it was never said doesn't mean it's not true either. You really should allow these speculations if they seem to be right and logical like this one. --TheBook 22:36, March 19, 2010 (UTC)
Why is it logical to assume what you say, based on what? We saw Merrick calling Buffy in Becoming, he never gave her the book. Remember that Giles was a replacement Watcher. The book was never mentioned or seen again in any form, so assuming its important to Slayers its little more than personal opinion, regarless of logic. For example, the Watchers Diaries/journals are constantly mentioned as an important part of Watchers and Slayers lore. --Gonzalo84 22:59, March 19, 2010 (UTC)
We never saw him give her the book because it wasn't essential to the story. The book wasn't mentioned again, I know, but I swear that I've seen it many times between all other books when they were doing research. Maybe the book wasn't that helpful to Giles and Buffy anymore since it could have been outdated?

Anyway, I don't think I'll be able to change your mind, so could you just add this link? It's from the creator of the treasure box merchandise. http://www.roboterkampf.com/html/props/vampyr.htm--TheBook 23:16, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

Uftar pages

Please note that there is something of an edit war going on with Idol of Uftar and Uftar (fertility idol). The user who created things feels that things on the wiki must be done his way, despite your moving the page previously. I may have been making things worse by reverting his changes, but my belief is that the wiki should look a certain way, and when an admin has made a change pointing out a logical reason why (avoiding parentheses), then that's the way things should be. Right now, there is a large amount of stuff in the histories of each article that should in theory be merged into one place. -- sulfur 21:48, August 1, 2010 (UTC)

Revision undo on Angel (episode)

I didn't understand some of your reasoning for removing the continuity problems iin that episode. You cite Angel not being able to smell Darla in his home as guilt? What is that based on? You also said that the 240 years not being old for a vampire comment was retconned...but isn't that what a continuity problem is? Certainly it should be mentioned somewhere, I would think. As for the two deaths not being recorded...I'm not sure I follow. Recorded by whom? And no reason was given for removing Buffy misspeaking about her messup on inviting Angel into her home. Obviously I'm not a regular member of the site so will bow to your seniority, but I was curious about explanations for removing those points (I'll put them on the discussion page for now, so as to illustrate them as possibilities at least). --Shimel 03:01, August 15, 2010 (UTC)

a question about images

Hi! how are you? I bother you with a question, I've seen a few articles with images created by fans: recreations, etc. I want to ask you what is the policy with those images? If many people disagree sometimes about adding information of license material but non canon, what would happen with these images that aren't even licensed material? of course it's just curiosity it's not to create a controversy or anything.Well have a good day.(Aliens1992 14:28, September 23, 2010 (UTC))

Character Names

The page move of Rupert Giles to Rupert Edmund Giles got me thinking ... do we have a standard for character page names? There are other characters whose middle name is known (Buffy Anne Summers and Alexander Lavelle Harris come to mind), so should those be moved as well? On a more general note, is there a published style guide aside from the various threads in the central discussion page? DinoSlider 01:37, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

We haven't created a style guide yet, I'm not sure why but its probably my fault considering I'm the highest-ranking member but I'm away a lot of time. As for character names we have tended to use full names, taking the cases of Oz and Fred into consideration and choosing names instead of nicknames. As for middle names, I guess we should use full names for the articles--Gonzalo84 08:28, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

I'd have to vote against using middle names in page names. No other wiki I've seen uses middle names in pages names and, more importantly, we'd then have to apply the nickname template to the page of every character whose middle name is unknown if we set middle names as the standard. --OzzMan 08:38, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

The nickname template applies when the real name is not known, incomplete names are exactly that, names. Though I guess you're right about the middle names, since every "Rupert Giles" or Buffy Summers mention would result in redirect. I'll undo the moves right now.--Gonzalo84 16:34, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

The Gallery of Images...

Also, do you have a Gallery for actors yet? like: Gallery:Sarah Michelle Gellar ?

Btw, still haven't figured out where your email is... it was no where to be found- not in my spam either :/

Vampire Hub

The following was posted on my talk page, but I thought you would be the more appropriate person to respond:

Hey Dino Slider! My name is Kate and I work for Wikia!
I wanted to let you know about a "vampire project" I've been interested in. I would like to create a footer for major Vampire Wikis like True Blood, Buffy, Twilight, Vampire Diaries (and others) that all the vampire wikis can place at the bottom of the mainpage to create a sort of "vampire community." The footer would just have links to all the vampire wikis in one convenient location.
I've ran it by the admin on Vampires Wiki: http://vampires.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page and he seems interested in the idea. I'll be talking to admins for the above wikis and I would love it if you guys were up for it. I would just create a simple template for the footer and give you the code if you like (or I can place it on the page also). I got the idea from the Anime/Manga community who utilizes for all their wikis and it works really well for them. The superhero/comics wikis do it as well.
Let me know if you're interested or if you have any questions!
Kate.moon@Wikia 23:37, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

Personally, I don't care about any of the other sites mentioned, but I didn't really want to speak for the community. DinoSlider 03:02, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

Personally, save for "Twilight" having an equal footing, I have no problem.--Gonzalo84 18:51, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I saw your edits on Cordelia Chase. There's no need to change verb tenses from present to past when discussing fiction. The present tense is generally used.

Hi,

I'm new here. I wrote a summary of Freefall Part 1 of the Buffy comic. I would like to create a section called Questions. It's a way to ask questions and even raise some speculation about the comic. The Battlestar Wiki has a section like this. Is there a way to do this? Thanks.

How do you leave a signature? I don't understand how to do to that.

Character Appearances

Hey I want ask why did you delete Character Appearances page

I set up Analysis and Questions sections for Freefall, and someone deleted them. Are these kinds of sections allowed? If so, is there any way to recover what was edited?

I've done editing on Battlestar Wikki and at that site there are Analysis and Questions sections allowed as long as you don't throw in personal opinions.

I added two sections to the entry of the Freefall comic: Analysis and Questions. Both were erased. Are these kinds of sections against the site's policy? There are similar sections on Battlestar Wiki and they make the entries much more interesting to read. If these are allowed, is there a way to get the erased content back? Thanks.

John Dorsey 19:05, September 15, 2011 (UTC)John Dorsey

Usually these articles serve for summaries. You can use the episode articles for basis, some of them have analysis sections, though not original research. as long as there's no speculation you have my blessing. --Gonzalo84 20:30, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

Please don't delete Character Appearance page

Please don't delete Character Appearances page because many wiki have that page.--Tom Jacob

Show me a link to those other wikis. Also, categorize the article. And the article remains orphan, no page links to it. Or else distribute the information among each Season Article --Gonzalo84 20:28, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

Okay here links to other wiki who have character appearances page:[1] , [2] , [3] and there are more wiki with character appearances page .--Tom Jacob

So when I show links to other wiki who have character appearance page maybe you don't delete this wiki character appearance page.--Tom Jacob

"Other wikis do it" seems like a pretty weak reason all by itself, in my opinion. DinoSlider 20:52, September 17, 2011 (UTC)

Delete or not.

I want ask did you delete or not Character Appearance page.--Tom Jacob

Category Sorting

I saw some of your edits where you changed the sort order for articles belonging to certain categories. I was wondering what your motivation was for that. DinoSlider 20:52, September 17, 2011 (UTC)

For character categories I thought it would be simpler tu sue first names, that way all the Summers girls, for example, wouldn't get caught up under the same letter. What do you think?--Gonzalo84 16:30, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

My opinion is that it is inconsistent. It will also take more time to manage because other users won't know that rule. I personally never cared for categories for characters anyway. This does remind me of one thing this site is really lacking ... a style guide. I started one a while back, but I never got back to it. I think that is something we need. DinoSlider 17:52, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

I also did it to prevent all the Maclays being listed under "M" in the Tara category.--Gonzalo84 16:38, September 18, 2011 (UTC)

Mystical Pregnancys are a theme in the Buffyverse seen in both the Buffy and Angel television series and both comics. There loads of children and parents associated with mystical preganacys:

  • Twilight
  • Darrow, son of Anne Steele
  • The Big Daddy Demon seen in"Expecting"
  • Technically Dawn
  • Jasmine
  • We can even say Robin Wood was born mystical, being the only known child of a Slayer

What is so wrong creating a catagory for that?

And what was so wrong with deleting my edit on the Magical Practitioners catagory? The Seed of Wonder has been destoryed. Most magical practitioners, can't practice magic any more. Don't you think that important?

Misunderstandment

I changed my mind. I just wasn't sure what do with it at the time. Soo... yeah. Annasean51 02:00, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

No offense, but I worked pretty hard on that page, and I find it rude and offputting that it was deleted. Yes there are several articles on spells, but almost eighty percent of the ones on the page I created are not included. If you do not want addition and cannon improvement to the wiki, that is your choice. You could have merely linked the spells that had articles with those respective pages, but as I said before, it is your loss.

Thank you. Thetelekinetic 04:36, September 26, 2011 (UTC)Thetelekinetic

Doctors

As far as a naming convention, should the articles be Dr. or Doctor? Here are the existing pages:

  • Dr. Blackwell
  • Dr. Clark
  • Dr. Counts
  • Dr. Evans
  • Dr. Gold
  • Dr. Gregson
  • Dr. Gull
  • Dr. Kallet
  • Dr. Rabinaw
  • Dr. Wasserman
  • Dr. Wilkinson
  • Doctor Clark
  • Doctor Fetvanovich
  • Doctor Sparrow
  • Doctor Who
  • Doctor Wierick

Since there are fewer Doctors, I would lean toward changing those to Dr. What do you think? DinoSlider 03:05, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

  • You're right. Besides we have "Mr." instead of Mister so there's our precedent.--Gonzalo84 04:29, September 28, 2011 (UTC)
Well, except for Mister Trick. I always wondered why that one was different. DinoSlider 00:32, September 29, 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation

In a recent edit, you wrote "Disambig/redirect template should go on top". I disagree when an infobox is present because the disambiguation statement pushes the box lower on the page for no good reason. Besides, on the vast majority of pages the I have seen it on, it is below the infobox and I strive for consistency. The only thing I believe should be above the infobox is a box template like noncannon, nickname, or conjecture. On that note, I also believe there should be a template for the disambiguation statement because it has been worded very differently from author to author. Like I said, I strive for consistency. DinoSlider 04:20, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

I think that all signs, warnings and similar should go on top, and then the subject information (like the infobox). During my months-long wikibreak someone placed the disamigs below infoboxes... maybe we should create a box (like conjectural title or the Major Spoiler warning) like they use in Wookiepedia (and they place said box on top of the infobox).--Gonzalo84 04:33, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

I think that is a good solution. DinoSlider 05:23, October 5, 2011 (UTC)

"Lloyd" the Asphyx demon

Hi there. I see you changed some of my edits on the articles of "Asphyx demon" and also "Lloyd". On the talk page for "Asphyx demon" you said: "There's a website/blog called Buffyverse Encyclopedia, the guy running it did serious research and pulled EVERYTHING from shooting scripts, closeups, screenshots DVD commentaries, close captionings. Its canon." Could you please link me to this "Buffyverse Encyclopedia"? I can't find it on google. I also googled the words "Asphyx demon" and the ONLY thing that comes up is this wiki. That's what led me to believe that someone on here just made up the term. If you could show me this website/blog, I'd love to take a look. But the thing is, even if the term "Asphyx demon" is on this site/blog, does the guy show where he found the term from? Or are we supposed to just take his word for it?

Also: Lloyd. I'm sorry but I find the article name to be just silly. It's based on a very flimsy peice of dialogue by D'Hoffryn. There's really nothing (that I know of) that indicates he's talking about the same demon that restored Spike's soul. When I saw the episode, I just assumed that he was talking about someone he knew back in Arishmahar. The African cave demon did have paintings and "sketches" on his wall. But there's no proof that any of them were supposed to be Willow and Warren Mears. What we have here is people seeing a demon with sketches, then hearing D'Hoffryn talking about a demon with sketches, and then just assuming that they are the same demon. By that logic I could assume that the "bleached blonde" scent that Angel identified Wesley having sex with was Spike. If you could point me to a commentary where the writers talk about "Lloyd" or show me a screencap that has an African cave painting of Warren being flayed I would change my opinion. But for now I feel that giving the demon the name "Lloyd" is silly. The cave paintings depicted all kinds of torture, so even if one of them does depict flaying, it's would still be questionable if that's the "sketch" that D'Hoffryn is talking about. Besides, Spike was in that cave earning his soul while the Dark Willow stuff was going on elsewhere. The "flaying of Warren Mears" hadn't even happened yet when the audience gets to see the cave paintings. If there is indeed a sketch of Willow flaying Warren (which I doubt), then it would be a continuity error. Vampire in Rug 07:00, October 6, 2011 (UTC)

The website is called stakesandsalvation.com and the file is called BuffyEncyclopedia, ran by Adam Dupe. All the info on his file is canonical, including retcons. Speculation is practically non existant (and that I never included here). Years ago I wrote him about the same issue. He got the names from the Demon Database in the Season 7 DVD. I'll soon buy the DVD's to complete my collection so I'll double-check everything. In the meantime I would appreciate if you could give us a hand in the human individuals categorization. So far just me and DinoSlider are doing it and its kind of annoying.--Gonzalo84 01:41, October 7, 2011 (UTC)

Hey there Gonzalo. Thanks for letting me know about "Willow's demon database". I had a look at that last night. It's quite a cool feature although I did notice quite a few mistakes in it. I can confirm that "Asphyx demon" is indeed listed as the demon in Africa that Spike got his soul from! However there is no mention of "Lloyd" whatsoever. That's somebody's peice of personal fanon that they have tried to justify via a flimsy line of dialgue by D'Hoffryn. There are likely dozens of demons with "sketches" on their walls. None of the sketches in Africa are explicidly acknowleged to be Warren, and I've already mentioned that Spike was fighting in the cave for his soul while Willow was flaying Warren, so at the time when Spike and the audience gets a (brief and undetailed) glimpse of the cave paintings, none of them could be Warren and Willow due to the chronological order of events. Personally, I'd suggest that the article on the Asphyx demon include the info on his encounter with Spike, and the article on "Lloyd" be removed unless someone can prove this demon's name. Vampire in Rug 08:04, October 8, 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to side with Vampire in Rug on this one. I tried to open Willow's Demon Database, but it doesn't seem to like Windows 7. The stakesandsalvation.com site looks shut down. I've personally seen nothing to indicate that Lloyd and the Cave Demon are one in the same. BTW, this discussion should have continued on the Talk Page of the article in question. Not everyone would know to look here. DinoSlider 17:15, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
I need your emails to send you the PDF, which I downloaded years ago. I also have Adam's e-mail in case you want to communicate with him.--Gonzalo84 01:05, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
Can't you just use the Email this User option? I'd rather not post my email address on a public page. DinoSlider 01:11, October 10, 2011 (UTC)
That is a pretty impressive compilation, but I don't see how it resolves this issue. In some cases, the encyclopedia sites a shooting script, but in the case of Lloyd, it merely references the episodes. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence to be sure, but nothing definitive to say that that they are the same character. Having said that, I don't feel strongly enough about it to insist on a change. The cave paintings certainly could be meant to depict the events of the episode, so I guess I would be okay with leaving it as is for now. DinoSlider 21:33, October 15, 2011 (UTC)
Hey, sorry for the late reply. I didn't really want to post my email address here either, so I just whipped up a temporary one. It's buffywikidude007@gmail.com if you could send that stuff to me too, that would be great.Vampire in Rug 07:56, October 20, 2011 (UTC)
The file has been sent.--Gonzalo84 20:01, October 20, 2011 (UTC)
Gonzalo, thank you for sending that file. That was very interesting and informative. However I do still object to the name "Lloyd." The only source that file was able to refrence was the episode "Selfless", and I've already covered why that's not a sufficient reference. While I'm sure the guy who created the Buffyverse Encyclopedia put a lot of work into it and most of his stuff is correct, this "Lloyd" stuff is a mistake on his part. D'Hoffryn could have eaily been talking about another demon, there is nothing to suggest that he's talking about the guy who gave Spike his soul. I've already pointed out that Spike was in the cave while Willow was flaying Warren, so there's no way the audience was treated to a shot of "Lloyd's sketch" to confirm this demon's name. Kudos to the creator of that file for making such a comprehensive and (for the most part) informative article on the canon of the Buffyverse. But this one tidbit is pure fanon. I really do object to having the article named Lloyd because of how damn silly it is. I really don't think that just because somebody has created a valuable soruce of information, that they should get to have their own personal fanon on this wiki. I could use the same reaoning to suggest that Wesley had sex with Spike in "Dear Boy" because a bleached blonde was referenced. Doesn't mean it should be included on the wiki based on a flimsy peice of dialogue which might be used to support the fanon if you squint hard enough. Vampire in Rug 01:23, November 12, 2011 (UTC)
There's the cave paintings, one actually mirrors the scene of Warren's flaying. As for Lloyd being a silly name... let's face it, its the Buffyverse - where shamans say "you're screwed" (Wo-Pang) and demons play squash. Nevertheless feel free to do the neccessary split: Unidentified Asphyx Demon / Lloyd. --Gonzalo84 05:50, November 12, 2011 (UTC)

New image template

Despite the name, the Non-free television screenshot template actually said, "a screenshot ... or a promotional media released into the public domain." Was the Non-freePromoPic template really necessary? DinoSlider 23:22, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

I know it will be a LOT of work for the two or three of us that usually undergo these tasks but I figured since we have one for tv screenshots and other comic book panels and other for comic book covers.--Gonzalo84 23:33, October 30, 2011 (UTC)

Naming

I see where you renamed Stevens to Principal Stevens with the reason "Per Principal Snyder". Would you be open to the opposite direction, i.e., renaming "Principal Snyder" to "Snyder" and "Principal Stevens" back to "Stevens"? DinoSlider 02:05, December 3, 2011 (UTC)

Thinking the same thing... go ahead... but what do we do with the "Misters" "Misses", "Drs" and Professors'?--Gonzalo84 08:25, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
Good point. Personally, I would prefer to stick to the actual names, but I count nearly a hundred existing articles (even after excluding exceptions like Mr. Trick, Miss Kitty Fantastico, etc.), so there is a precedent. On the other hand, you recently dropped "Detective" and "Officer" from a bunch of article names. I'm kinda torn. DinoSlider 16:36, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
I think we could drop all titles (including Principal and Professor). We could also drop the ENTIRE Mr./Mrs./Ms. except for nicknames (like Mr. Trick) and when the word IS part of the name (like Miss Kitty Fantastico.--Gonzalo84 19:29, December 3, 2011 (UTC)
So, to summarize, the following stay: Mr. Trick, Count Flouncy, Miss Kitty Fantastico, and Miss Sunshine. The following change: Archduke Sebassis, Baron Samedi, Captain Atkinson, Captain Franklin, Coach Foster, Coach Wheeler, Colonel McNamara, Count Kurskov, Detective Broomfield, Father Fredricks, Father Gabriel, General Gregor, General Voll, Judge Adderly, Lord Nichols, Madame Anita, Madame Dorion, Major Ellis, Mistress Meerna, Monseigneur Rivalli, Princess Amirah, Principal Snyder, Principal Stevens, Sister Abigail, and all of the "Dr.", "Mr.", "Mrs.", "Ms.", and "Professor"s. Sound about right? DinoSlider 00:18, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
Just found Lieutenant Moulter also. DinoSlider 00:25, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
And I guess Miss Trailer Trash can stay. DinoSlider 00:32, December 4, 2011 (UTC)
In the case of Baron Samedi, its the full name of the deity, I think it should stay.--Gonzalo84 16:38, December 5, 2011 (UTC)

Buffy and Angel broadcast order

Why did you remove the list of Buffy and Angel episodes? You say it was "pointless repeat", but where is there a comprehensive list of episode crossovers on this Wiki??? I am shocked :( This page was recently deleted from Wikipedia for being "fancruft". The whole thing was debated here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/List_of_Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer_and_Angel_episodes Afterwards I managed to convince an admin to undelete it and give me access to a copy, so that page, unique to the internet, could be preserved somewhere. And then you go and delete it...? :( JohnnyWalker2001 02:58, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

First of all is a humongous page. Second, one thing is the in-universe articles, in which everything is treated as a unit, another thing is the out-of-universe perspective, in which we split episodes and shows. For example, from an in-universe point of view (like a character article) Faith's reawakening and body swap with Buffy is a single event. From an out-of-universe POV its two episodes. The way I see it a list of crossovers (AND JUST CROSSOVERS, no mentions of episodes like "Witch" or "Expecting" or "Deep Down") is welcome. For the rest wqe have the episodes list AND the chronology, which lists events from a mixed POV.--Gonzalo84 16:34, December 9, 2011 (UTC)
Well, you could work at improving the page, rather than outright deleting it... May I put it back? It's the only place on the internet where the entire broadcast order can be seen anywhere. Also, did you read the entire debate, btw? There's a lot of merit in that page, I feel it's important and useful. JohnnyWalker2001 00:48, December 10, 2011 (UTC)
The only way to "improve" would've been to cut down the redundant information (pretty much the whole article). So just list the crossovers where the STORYLINES/EVENTS interwine:
  • "The Freshman"/"City of" (Angel calling Buffy and saying nothing: apparently the two episodes, or parts of them happen concurrently)
  • "The Harsh Light of Day"/"In The Dark"
  • "Bachelor Party"/"Pangs"/"I Will Remember You" (Doyle's vision, Angel's visit to Sunnydale, Buffy's trip to Los Angeles)
  • "Who Are You"/"Five by Five"/"Sanctuary"/"The Yoko Factor" (Faith flees Sunnydale for Los Angeles, Buffy tracks her down, Faith agrees to seek redemption, Angel goes to Sunnydale to apologize)
  • "Primeval"/"Blind Date" (Cordy calls Willow to help her decrypt W&H files whole Willow tries to decrypt Adam's)
  • "Fool for Love"/"Darla" (flashbacks crossover)
  • "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb" (Willow travels to Los Angeles to inform of Buffy's death)
  • "Fredless" (Willow calls Los Angeles to tell them of Buffy's resurrection)
  • "Orpheus" (Willow goes to Los Angels to restore Angel's soul)
  • "Dirty Girls" (Willow returns to Sunnydale with Faith)
  • "Home"/"Chosen" (Angel receives an Amulet and takes it to Sunnydale)
That's it. Throw in original broadcast dates and you've got your List of Crossovers. The rest, like I said is redundant.--Gonzalo84 17:28, December 10, 2011 (UTC)
Redundant to you. A lot of people care about the broadcast order of the episodes for when they're watching the series. As you can see from the debate I linked to, that page means a LOT to different people. The fact that you can't see its merit, and so therefore refuse to allow other members of the Buffy community to have it (even though they see merit in it) is something that makes me pretty sad.
I'm guessing you setup this Wikia to begin with, but as I understand it, the spirit of a Wiki site is to support the interests, concerns, and work, of a community of people, not just one person. I respectfully ask you to reconsider, and to think about other people's opinions besides your own, because that's what a Wiki community is about. JohnnyWalker2001 16:03, December 11, 2011 (UTC)
Yes, the broadcast order IS important, that's why each episode article includes the episodes "succession line". BTW, I didn't set up the wikia, I was invited to participate and I'm one of the few that remain. If you want to include more people into the discussion use the Buffyverse Wiki:Central Discussion page and argue your case. Keep in mind that by your example we should also include Buffy Seasons Eight and Nine and Angel After the Fall and Angel and Faith.--Gonzalo84 17:25, December 12, 2011 (UTC)
It seems somewhat absurd that I have to "argue my case" simply because you, a sole user, doesn't like a new page. Is this standard procedure for this Wiki? In my experience it's standard practice for a Wiki for someone will flag a page for deletion, and let the community discuss it. But here you're saying that new pages have to be presented to the community before they can be added? I will do as you ask. JohnnyWalker2001 17:53, December 12, 2011 (UTC)
Since there are few users here, and even fewer who actually participate in discussions we tend to be a little swift and draconian when it comes to deletions (I've placed deletion tags and even after months nobody voted). Its actually faster when the discussion comes post-deletion. And for certain controversial issues like your proposal we use the Central Discussion--Gonzalo84 01:59, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
Fair enough, but it seems nuts that this is considered a "controversial" issue because two people disagree, though. After all, I have already shown you a page of Buffy fans who want to be able to see that page in addition to separate Buffy and Angel episode pages. It was only voted to be deleted from Wikipedia by one vote... I felt confident that it would be appreciated here, and never foresaw the problems that would lay ahead :( JohnnyWalker2001 04:21, December 13, 2011 (UTC)
You shouldn't have deleted, i don't know if you realized but that's the only watching order of the shows episodes, of course it was needed, isn't this a Buffyverse wikia?
Adriano1995 18:11, December 31, 2011 (UTC)
Let's try to be clear. Is it supposed to be crossovers, broadcast order, production order, viewing order, or a cumulative list? In the end, the page that was deleted was simply a cumulative list. As such it was simply duplicating the content from the two shows individually. If it is supposed to be crossovers, then it should be limited to that (and I personally think that would be a little redundant as well). If it is supposed to be broadcast order, then it was wrong because of the order of "Earshot". If it is supposed to be production order, then I would argue that it makes no sense to mix the two different productions (plus I think the order listed is not the true production order anyway). If it is supposed to be viewing order, then it is flawed because of the way some stories flow into each other and it would be better to use the chronology or the timeline linked to from both of the existing show lists. DinoSlider 19:05, December 31, 2011 (UTC)
I don't know, i only knew of this page being on wikipedia, i didn't know this had existed here before, i allways saw it as a good watching order page, i still think there should be a timeline page
Adriano1995 12:34, January 1, 2012 (UTC)

For "watching order" we have the timeline, which also covers the events in the Angel episodes that take place BEFORE Buffy Season Six.--Gonzalo84 21:46, December 31, 2011 (UTC)

Slayer Stats

I've been mulling this one over for a while and I need another opinion. Several of the episodes (but nowhere near all of them) have a section called Slayer Stats. I would like to come up with a new name that would work for Angel episodes as well, but I couldn't come up with one that I really liked. Do you have an opinion?

Additionally, I see where you moved the section on Intervention, but I moved it back to match the rest of the episodes that contain it. Some time ago, I went through every episode to make the sections consistent in their names and order, so I have pretty diligent to keep them that way. We can discuss the proper location for the section and move it across all of the episodes, if necessary. DinoSlider 01:13, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

We could use the classic "body count" or "death count". As for the location, I think it should be moved because the quotes section is rather large and, in my opinion, tiresome to read. --Gonzalo84 04:27, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

I thought about those, but dismissed them as too morbid. I was trying to come up with something more Buffy-esque, like "Slayage" or "Dusted".
As for the order, here are the currently used sections in episodes:
Synopsis
Continuity
Behind the Scenes
Writing
Production
Broadcast
Deleted Scenes
Pop Culture References
Awards
Goofs, Bloopers & Continuity Errors
Music
Other
Quotes
Slayer Stats
Appearances
Characters
Organizations and Titles
Species
Events
Locations
Weapons and objects
Miscellaneous
Gallery
External Links
References
DinoSlider 05:33, January 19, 2012 (UTC)

I think "quotes", since it looks different, should go below gallery, and Slayage below appearances.--Gonzalo84 04:29, January 20, 2012 (UTC)

In the body Body Count section for Bargaining, Part One, you added "One vampire slain by the Buffybot," but left "The Buffybot slayed one vampire." Which way should it be? DinoSlider 02:47, February 14, 2012 (UTC)
About that... I guess we should first mention the deceased/killed and then the perpetrator. For example:

In "Revelations"

  • Two unidentified vampires, slain simultaneously by Buffy and Faith.
  • The demon Lagos, beheaded by Buffy.
  • Mrs. Gwendolyn Post, obliterated by lightning from the Glove of Myneghon

--Gonzalo84 03:56, February 14, 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I changed all of the existing ones to match that pattern. DinoSlider 02:46, February 15, 2012 (UTC)

After the most recent updates, the episodes now follow this structure:

Synopsis
Continuity
Body Couunt
Behind the Scenes
Writing
Production
Broadcast
Deleted Scenes
Pop Culture References
Awards
Goofs, Bloopers & Continuity Errors
Music
Other
Appearances
Characters
Organizations and Titles
Species
Events
Locations
Weapons and objects
Miscellaneous
Quotes
Gallery
External Links
References

I believe that all "episode" pages (episodes, comics, novels, etc.) follow this same structure. Other sections could be added as necessary. What do you think? DinoSlider 15:42, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

I agree. Though now that I've been checking the articles, I find the reading flow to be kinda wonky, jumping from body count, then to Behind the Scenes, then to character appearances. What do you think of this? structure:
Synopsis
Continuity
Appearances
Characters
Organizations and Titles
Species
Events
Locations
Weapons and objects
Miscellaneous
Death Count
Behind the Scenes
Writing
Production
Broadcast
Deleted Scenes
Pop Culture References
Awards
Goofs, Bloopers & Continuity Errors
Music
Other
Gallery
Quotes
External Links

--Gonzalo84 21:33, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

Would you want to swap the order of Appearances and Behind the Scenes on character pages as well? DinoSlider 22:40, February 19, 2012 (UTC)
Just following the Wookiepedia style. There's a difference between out-of-universe articles (episodes, comics, films,) and in-universe articles.--Gonzalo84 21:18, February 20, 2012 (UTC)
Now that I moved the sections, it seems like the Body Count section is pretty redundant. If the Appearances already lists the individual with the {{Killed}} tag, the section doesn't really add much value. DinoSlider 06:04, February 28, 2012 (UTC)

Drusilla

Why do you keep removing Spike and Dru: Pretty Maids All in a Row from Drusilla's page? DinoSlider 18:24, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Because of the canon issues over the Sophie Carstensen stuff.--Gonzalo84 23:21, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Easy enough ... I marked it non-canon. DinoSlider 03:29, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

How exactly do you deal with someone who constantly changes pages so that they're extremely biased towards one ship? I don't want to have to constantly change this one user's edits on the Buffy Relationships page because she's a diehard shipper who can't seem to understand that this isn't the Bangel wiki.

Bias in the Buffy Relationships page

~~Eilowyn~~

Okay that last one was me, and I really didn't know how to ask my question. How do you deal with shipper bias? The Buffy Relationships page was just edited by a user to skew extremely towards a particular one of Buffy's suitors, and this user seems to change all of my edits that I've done to get some neutrality on the page. I'm sure this is something you have dealt with before; I just don't want to start something where I change something and this user changes it back, then I change it, etc. going back and forth ad nauseum. I don't have time for that!

I was curious if you'd be interested in joining my Wiki, being a Buffy fan yourself ;)

Everything you need to know is on the first page of the wiki, any other questions and you can ask me.

Discussing This With the Wrong Person?

Hi. Trevor here. Uhm, I have no idea if I'm discussing this with the right or wrong person, but you seem to be a experienced wiki user. I'm a new fan of The Avatar/The Legend of Korra series and noticed on their wiki at each end of the page there's a section for wiki users to leave comments...mainly thoughts/theores on the topic, and it seems to be very popular at that wiki. I'm a HUGE fan of Buffy and I'd just die to have this comment thing at each bottom of a page. It's very fun and I think it's a great way for people to share opinions and come together...it also brings in the crowd of more wiki users. (bad/innapropriate comments are banned.) I don't know if you're the one to talk to on this discussion or what. I'm a very young wiki user and I don't know if I'm telling this to the wrong person, if it cannot be done, or what. If you know anything/could help I would really apreciate it. Thanks! :)

Hello

Hey Gonzalo. I am trying to broaden my horizons in terms of my editing to include a few more of my favorite shows. I am hoping to spend around an hour editing here about once a month from now on. I was thinking about working on the crew articles, particularly writers and directors. I would be aiming to bring them all up to the standard you currently have for Joss Whedon. Would that be Ok?--Opark 77 (talk) 23:10, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

Episode template

Hey, thanks for the welcome to the wikia, i have a question, how do i magane to not per say "screw" the episodes template cause for what i've seen in the episodes template we add in the "uncredited" section, the characters that appear with archive footage, point is, i've been trying to add Buffy (in the uncredited section obviously) in the City Of page, and i keep screwing it up, so how do i magane to keep the template normal?
