Velvet Chain was a band that performed at the Bronze in 1996. They played their songs "Treason" and "Strong" while Buffy and Owen danced then talked during their first date.

Behind the scenes

• Velvet Chain was one of the on-screen bands that played in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Their song "Strong" was included in the series soundtrack The Album.
• The band released in 1999 The Buffy EP, which includes the song "Buffy (She's the Slayer)," described as "their own theme song to the show" written "due to the overwhelming response from the Buffy fan base, and because the band thinks the show is so cool." Seth Green, who portrayed Oz in the series, is credited for the guitars in this song.
• The band performed at the Bronze once again in the non-canon comic issue Willow & Tara: WannaBlessedBe.
