Wolfram & Hart's army advances upon Angel's crew.
The Senior Partners assembled a demon army to destroy the Angel Investigations team proceeding their attack over Marcus Hamilton and the Circle of the Black Thorn.[citation needed]
In response to Angel's betrayal, the Partners rescinded his contract with the firm, destroyed the L.A. branch, and sent a vast army that included demons, giants, and dragons after the surviving members of Team Angel. During the battle, the Partners sent the city of L.A. to hell, and Gunn was sired by a vampire that was a part of the army.[citation needed]
After the temporal fold that reversed the Fall of Los Angeles, Angel and his friends were returned to the original battle, where they once again faced the demon army. With Illyria fighting with renewed force and Cordelia the dragon quickly joining Team Angel, the demon army was quickly slaughtered and Angel was able to save Gunn from being sired.[citation needed]
